Prerequisites

Before installing Budgeting Pro, ensure you have:

  • A Shopify store with admin access
  • A valid email address for the shop owner
  • Basic understanding of your company's budget structure
  • Knowledge of your business locations and organizational structure

Installing from Shopify App Store

Step 1: Find Budgeting Pro

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin panel
  2. Navigate to Apps → Shopify App Store
  3. Search for "Budgeting Pro"
  4. Click on the Budgeting Pro app listing

Step 2: Install the App

  1. Click the Add app button
  2. Review the app permissions and pricing details
  3. Click Install app to confirm the installation
  4. Wait for the installation process to complete (usually takes 1-2 minutes)

Step 3: App Activation

Once installed, Budgeting Pro will:

  • Automatically create a dedicated subdomain for your shop
  • Generate a superadmin account using your shop owner email
  • Send login credentials to your email address

Initial Setup Process

Automatic Account Creation

When you install Budgeting Pro, the system automatically:

  1. Creates Subdomain: A unique subdomain is generated for your shop (e.g., yourshop.budgetingpro.com)
  2. Superadmin Account: A superadmin account is created using the same email address as your Shopify shop owner
  3. Password Generation: A secure password is generated and sent to your email
  4. Trial Period: Your free trial period begins immediately upon installation

What Happens Next

  • You'll receive an email with your login credentials within 5-10 minutes
  • Your trial period starts automatically (check your specific trial duration in the app)
  • You can access your Budgeting Pro dashboard using the provided subdomain

Account Activation

Step 1: Check Your Email

  1. Look for an email from Budgeting Pro with the subject "Welcome to Budgeting Pro - Your Account Details"
  2. The email will contain:
    • Your subdomain URL
    • Your username (shop owner email)
    • Your temporary password
    • Instructions for first login

Step 2: First Login

  1. Click the link in your email or navigate to your subdomain
  2. Enter your email address and the provided temporary password
  3. You'll be prompted to create a new, secure password
  4. Complete your profile information

Step 3: Initial Configuration

After logging in, you'll be guided through:

  1. Company Information: Set up your company details
  2. Location Setup: Create your first location
  3. Budget Configuration: Set initial budget parameters
  4. User Invitations: Invite team members (optional)

Once installation is complete, we recommend:

  1. Explore the Dashboard: Familiarize yourself with the interface
  2. Set Up Locations: Create all necessary company locations
  3. Configure Budgets: Set up budget allocations for each location
  4. Invite Users: Add team members who will use the system
